Seal Two – The Red Horse

The second seal carries some warnings for our forward journey. The message is to see Karma as a gift.

When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, “Come!” And out came another horse, bright red; its rider was permitted to take peace from the earth, so that men should slay one another; and he was given a great sword. Rev 6:3-4

“The red horse speaks vividly about how we might relate to one other. The currency of our relationships is karma. It is our astral, which we can also call our soul body, which gives us the experience of karma. In each incarnation we create this karma through the way we feel, think and act so that in future lives we can reap the rewards. However, we may not always see the situations that are “given to us” – edothe – as rewards. We may even blame the rider of the red horse to whom it was given to take peace (friendliness) from our being. Alternatively, which is the whole point of the exercise, we may be able to meet challenging situations so that we restore peace within ourselves.

The red horse represents our astral as the bearer of emotions, images, thoughts; things which are not visible to the eye but which can be felt internally. In comparison, our ‘I’ which is riding the red horse, is the bearer of Higher Self-consciousness and comprehension. It is our ‘I’ which rides our inner self into the outer world. It is in this way that our ‘I’ becomes fully conscious of itself. We will never become conscious of our ‘I’ if we withdraw from the world, if we shrink back from life’s experiences.

Each life brings with it increased responsibility to act, think, and feel in the right way. We could even say that while we act unconsciously our lives are in jeopardy. This is a great incentive to become as conscious as possible so that we make the wisest choices in every area of life.
