The Observer

I have always struggles to grasp the true meaning of a statement Steiner often makes. I can’t find the exact words but essentially it says, “Find yourself in the world, find the world in yourself.” It stands along said the important quote, “Man know thyself.”

This morning I read some words that have helped me to see this in a new way.

“The true nature of the observer is fulfilled when the observed and the observer are united in the act of observing.” Dennis Klocek, The Seer’sHandbook

Dennis makes this statement just after he discusses the comparison of ancient thought and modern scientific thinking by calling them mystical abstractionists and technical reductionists. He suggests that the role of the observer is ignored in both and that we should find a way to place the observer in the process as he does in the above quote.
