25.-26. Dezember – Wassermann
Second Contemplation: by Kristina Kaine
In 2020 we have had the greatest opportunity to observe our own life. A global illness has changed the way we live by isolating us from others and keeping many of us at home. It has slowed us down and given us time to assess how we live. We could compare this to “The Eagle of the soul circling high on its wings” and observing its life from a great height.
If we can focus on the presence of Christ within us surely the nature of the path we walk will not be a challenge. From a height we can look down and see the ways in which we find each other, and love each other. From a height we can also see new ways to love ourselves. What other reason is there to love ourselves than to realize that we are giving birth to Christ. What an honor.
During this time of global illness, over 1.74 million people have died worldwide. Can we begin to imagine what it is like in the spiritual worlds as these souls transition from life on earth to life in spirit. Have enough of us prayed for their journey to be valuable, for them, for those they have left behind, and for their preparation for their next incarnation? Our prayer can be as simple as lighting up a spiritual image of Christ as he yearns to comfort those who “touch the hem of his garment”.
As we walk through these nights, from the birth of Jesus to the entry of Christ into his soul on January 6, each step changes us. Each step prepares us to see our lives from a greater height revealing to us our purpose.
