Lent Day 9
If we feel at a loss to make sense of the life of Jesus, and the presence of Christ in his life, we must not despair. It is so easy to give up when something is too confusing or too hard to understand. Similarly, if we lapse into some mystical adoration of Jesus we also miss the point.
Lent is the perfect time to set aside a few moments and ask the questions lying deep within our soul. Simple questions like, who are these beings? Why did they do what they did? Why are they so important? Why do so many people ignore them? Our commitment to ask the questions, and our ability to listen to our own inner being, will reveal some of the secrets.
“The most up-to-date theology has lost the faculty for comprehending Christ; increasingly it has arrived at the point of turning Christ Jesus completely into an earth being, a human being. […] We fail to understand Christ if we do not recognize Him as the cosmic power that completely unites with us when through questions and inner activity we work our way through to Him.” Rudolf Steiner 17 April 1921
