Lent Day 24

At this time we are called to develop ideas about the contemporary Christ Being. If we agree that nothing remains the same, that everything changes and develops, then this idea applies also to Christ. In his book “The Michael Mystery” Sergei Prokofieff speaks of the need for a special intensity and endurance in our thinking to create a completely new relationship with Christ – the 21st Century Christ.

As we consider what this modern Christ might be like we can be sure that he will be with us. Whenever we commit ourselves to deepening our relationship with him, he is with us. If we doubt he can be present with us, he won’t be. The freedom we have to create our relationship with Christ is astounding if we think about it. Imagining that we are walking with him through Lent to a 21st Century Golgotha experience will have its rewards.
