Are you developing your Angel qualities?

Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven, wrapped in a cloud, with a rainbow over his head, and his face was like the sun, and his legs like pillars of fire. He had a little scroll open in his hand. And he set his right foot on the sea, and his left foot on the land, and called out with a loud voice, like a lion roaring; when he called out, the seven thunders sounded. Rev 10:1-3

John’s account of The Revelation, as revealed to him by Jesus Christ, takes a surprising turn in chapter ten. The blood, fire, locusts, plagues and other gruesome images are intercepted by this mighty vista. All through The Revelation it is as if both sides of the coin are presented at once. The good and the bad co-exist, and we have the freedom to choose which one to experience. Furthermore, we have the opportunity to experience both. In other words, we are invited to be more conscious of the full reality of life. The presence of this strong angel, roaring like a lion, jolts us away from the fury of the last two chapters and we are awakened to the other side of the coin.

The pre-requisite for understanding the intricacies of life is that we have self-knowledge. The more aware we are of our own consciousness, the more we will be able to make sense of what helps and what hinders human evolution. Often what we think will help actually hinders, and vice versa.

Can this angel be revealing to us that when we reach a certain point in our own spiritual development we become angel-like? To become angel-like means that we begin to rise above that state of human beingness that is ignorant of the spiritual worlds. Many people are at this stage now, either consciously or unconsciously.

The present stage of the development of human consciousness is complex; three things are happening. Firstly, as the highest level of our soul awakens, we become more conscious of the way our will works. We then become more aware of all our actions and motives, especially those actions which previously happened automatically. This area of our soul is known as the Consciousness Soul or Spiritual Soul. It is characterised by a new level of awareness, and an ability to make better choices.

Secondly, when our Consciousness Soul levels break through to a certain point, we become aware of our ‘I’. Through our ‘I’ we are able to make more informed choices, choices that will affect more than just this one life. These choices may not be the most comfortable, but they will be significant for us and for others.

Thirdly, when our Consciousness Soul begins to be more active, and we begin to experience our ‘I’, this activates our Spirit Self (our angel-like consciousness). In other words, we have access to a higher human consciousness which reveals itself in spiritual Imaginations that form in our minds. The kind of spiritual Imagination that John sees here.
